Previously, we attended a working group of the Children and Families Scrutiny Board where we shared your concerns regarding the EHCP process.
Yesterday we were invited back to the full board meeting. Our feedback was given to the full board in their agenda pack.
We challenged the Senior Officers as our feedback wasn’t reflected in their report and reiterated again that the EHCP parent survey has not been sent to the parents it concerns. As you can see in the video, Julie Longworth (Director of Children and Families at Leeds City Council) was shocked and advised she will look into it. We will monitor this and chase it up as the deadline is looming.
We have meetings set up with Dan Barton (newly appointed Deputy Director of Children and Families) and both he and Julie have expressed an interest in attending our Steering Group meetings.
