The Department for Education (DfE) is inviting parents, carers, professionals and organisations to share their views on proposed changes relating to Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS).
The consultation is open until 11:59pm on Friday, 18th September, and Leeds Parent Carer Forum is encouraging families to take part and ensure their experiences help inform future SEND policy.
Although the consultation focuses on EOTAS provision, it also includes information about:
- Section 19 provision for children and young people who are unable to attend school
- Proposed changes to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
- Wider SEND reform proposals and support thresholds
As the consultation includes both multiple-choice and free-text questions, families can respond in as much or as little detail as they wish. There is also the option to submit feedback by email if completing the online form is not suitable.
