Did you know that the voices of Leeds parent carers are helping shape the future of SEND services across the city?
Behind the scenes, a dedicated group of professionals and parent carers are working together to make sure your experiences, concerns, and ideas are heard – and acted on.
Who's involved?
The Voice and Influence Transparency Working Group is part of the Leeds Area SEND and AP Partnership Board. It brings together:
- Leeds Parent Carer Forum (LPCF)
- Voice and Influence team
- Health professionals
- SENDIASS
- Customer Relations
- Learning and Inclusion
- Health and Social Care
Together, we oversee the Self Evaluation Framework (SEF) – a tool used to assess how well SEND services are working and where improvements are needed.
How Does Your Feedback Get Used?
Your feedback is collected through:
- Leeds Parent Carer Forum
- The wider Parent Carer Support Group Network
- Bi-monthly check-ins and events
This feedback is added to an Issues Tracker, which helps the working group:
- Explore feedback raised by families
- Agree actions with services
- Monitor progress
- Influence service planning
Why It Matters
This process ensures that real experiences – like delays in EHCPs or challenges with school transport – are not just heard, but used to help shape change.
What's next?
We’ll be sharing a series of case studies that show how this process works in action – highlighting the real impact of parent carer voices in Leeds.
Stay tuned!
