𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐲: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦

The Learning Inclusion Service is proposing changes to how children and young people are referred to the STARS Team – the autism support service for mainstream early years settings, schools, and colleges.

Under the proposed changes, schools and settings would be able to refer children and young people for support based on need, rather than a formal autism diagnosis.

If approved, these changes would come into effect from January 2026.

Parents and carers are invited to share their views by completing a short survey (approx. 5 minutes). The survey is open until Friday 11th July 2025.
