Join us for a coffee morning with the Speech and Language Therapy Team. Ask questions, get advice and connect with other parent carers.
Leeds Parent Carer Forum is pleased to welcome colleagues from Leeds Community Healthcare’s Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service to join us for a special information and engagement session.You may be a parent or carer of a child or young person who has previously accessed Speech and Language Therapy, is currently receiving support, or has never used the service and would like to know more. Perhaps you’re unsure about what support is available or how to access it. This session is for you.
This will be a welcoming and informal opportunity to meet other parent carers, hear from members of the Children’s Speech and Language Therapy team, and learn more about:
- How the Speech and Language Therapy Service works
- Current waiting times and referral pathways
- Who the service supports
- Support and signposting available while waiting for appointments
- The upcoming SEND reforms and the new Experts at Hand model
The session will also give parents and carers the opportunity to share their experiences, ask questions, and help shape future Speech and Language Therapy support across Leeds.
The Speech and Language Therapy team is keen to hear directly from families about what matters most. Your views will help inform how support is developed and delivered in educational settings across Leeds as this new approach is introduced.
There will be plenty of opportunities for discussion, questions and feedback throughout the session.
