Autism and Adolescence Workshop

Living Autism Foundation is a charity who help autistic people, their families and carers. One of our main objectives is to provide workshops which will offer information and approaches to help reduce anxieties and to improve health and wellbeing.

Following the success of our recent Adolescence workshop, we are pleased to arrange our next workshop, ‘Autism and Adolescence Part 2’ – It is not essential that you attended Part 1.

The workshop will be held at Temple Moor High School & Sixth Form, Field End Grove, Selby Road, Leeds, LS15 0PT, on Saturday 10th May 2025 from 09.30am to 01.00pm.

Again, our guest speaker will Geoff Evans, who has over 40 years of experience of working with this group of young people. For many autistic young people and their families, adolescence can be a difficult and stressful time. In this workshop Geoff will again explore the possible reasons for this. Reasons can include the many changes they experience in a short period of time including expectations, physical, emotional and changes in educational settings. All these changes can be impacted upon by the young people’s sensory experience and making sense of communication and relationships.  Geoff will discuss the need to provide stability in a time of change. The possible differences between the experiences of young men and women are also explored. He will also discuss a variety of practical approaches that have been proven to support autistic young people.

The workshop has a subsidised booking fee of £5. However, should anyone attending feel they could support these or future workshops with an extra voluntary donation, this would be very much appreciated. A large part of our funding relies on donations. We attach a flyer about the workshop.
